Job Description

NBC Sports Group acquired the exclusive U.S. media rights to the Premier League through a multi-year agreement that began with the 2013-14 season. NBCUniversal is the exclusive English- and Spanish-language media rights holder to all 380 Premier League matches across all platforms and devices in the U.S. NBC, Peacock, USA and Telemundo are the home to match coverage in the U.S.

As part of the 2022-2023 season, a new marketing initiative will be focused on extending collaborative programs onto university campuses to increase awareness within a key demographic of viewers - college students! The main goal is to establish a PL Supporters network for all students, led by our ambassadors, dedicated to building fandom on campus, educating students about the sports business side and sharing the history of the league both in the UK and the U.S.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Premier League (PL) College Ambassador while working “remote” from campus. Strong focus on promoting the PL and building a network of fans 


• Plan on-campus events around key Premier League matches, at least one viewing party a month, to promote tune-in and attract interest across the college community


• Highlight PL fandom and engage as well as educate the casual sports fan of the all the rich history of the League and Clubs.


• Be a brand advocate for the PL on campus through word-of-mouth and social media


• Pitch and brainstorm PL related content for the NBC Sports Soccer and Premier League in U.S. platforms every week


• Educate, promote and support the PL specific NBC Sports Edge gaming/betting platform


• Develop and share content on social media to promote the program as well as tune-in for key matches


• Work up to 8 hours a week; this is a paid opportunity


• Commit to a 10-week program during the Spring 2023 semester. Anticipated start date mid-January

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress 


• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)  


• Must be 18 years of age or older


• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal 

Desired Characteristics:

• Has a good pulse of what’s happening on campus


• Knowledge of / interest in sports, specifically Soccer


• Eager to engage with peers on campus


• Self-motivated, go-getter who can function by themselves in a campus environment


• Ability to meet timelines with minimal supervision


• Community influencer


• Soccer student-athletes or direct connection to the Men’s/Women’s Soccer teams is a plus. Opportunity to be a part of the NBC Sports Athlete Direct initiative.

SALARY RANGE: $17/hr
